Statewide Enterprises is, as many large landlords in the LA area, only focused on its bottom line and, in my experience, has very little regard for the safety of its tenants.
I live in a gorgeous Norman-Revival building with great tenants who have fought hard and to no avail against Statewide for basic security given the numerous break-ins and mail theft at the building.
Tenants have repeatedly pleaded for a lease addendum to cover the costs of overnight security, but Statewide has replied to the tune of “do you know how to do math… it’s going to cost a fortune!”
On the other hand, Statewide recently sent tenants an addendum the lease that increases rent by $300 to cover the cost of the additional power consumed from fan/AC usage during the summer months. It’s very frustrating!
