The property manager Camille Brown is running a scam that deceitfully takes money out of your security deposit when you move out to pay for building maintenance that they themselves would be paying for regardless. To start, Camille Brown took $100 out of my security deposit to pay for repainting my apartment after I left. Nowhere in my lease does it say I’m to pay for painting and the California courts website specifically states “a landlord may not make tenants pay for painting, new carpets, or curtains unless they are damaged beyond ordinary and reasonable wear and tear “. I WAS GIVEN A MOVE OUT SHEET BY CAMILLE WHICH DID NOT SHOW THAT THERE WAS ANY DAMAGE IN MY APARTMENT BEYOND ORINDARY AND REASONABLE WEARE AND TEAR. So basically she has broken housing laws. Also, despite me telling Camille Brown that my lease does NOT state I’m to pay for painting, she deducted the $100 from my security deposit anyway. She did not re-read my lease to double check anything because her plan was to STEAL that money from me. WITHOUT ANY justified cause Camille Brown stole $100 from me.
She also took out $180 FROM MY DEPOSIT for cleaning when the lease specifically states IF the apartment is NOT cleaned adequately THEN reasonable cleaning fees will be deducted. Again, something I stated to her. I have 70 pictures to prove the apartment was MORE THAN adequately cleaned. But Camille Brown is running a scam AGAINST all pet owners. What she’ll do is after you move out is tell you that because you had pets they need to charge you $180 to clean the apartment, WHICH IS a cleaning THEY HAVE TO DO regardless whether you have pets or not. So every pet owner will be surprised upon their move out. AGAIN, NOWHERE in the lease does it mention there is special cleaning that needs to be done because you have pets. NOWHERE in their 30 day inspection sheet prior to moving out do they mention any special cleaning for pets. THEIR lease even states that the building will give you a list of items for cleaning or repairs to be done by you prior to moving out!! NOT ONCE did Camille Brown mention anything about pet cleaning IN THE MOVE OUT INSPECTION because it was not an issue and therefore not mentioned to me. SO HOW IS IT THAT ALL OF A SUDDEN THE APARTMENT REQUIRES A $180 CLEANING DUE TO PET HAIR WHEN THAT WAS NOT BROUGHT UP DURING THE MOVE OUT INSPECTION AND I HAVE OVER 70 PICTURES THAT SHOW THERE ISN’T ANY PET HAIR. But once you leave, they STEAL that money from you. IT’S ALL A SCAM RUN BY CAMILLE BROWN AND 7121 WOODLEY ASSOCIATES!!!
IF YOU Live at 7121 Woodley Ave you’ll be fighting to get your money back!!!!!!! And when you try to confront her, she condescendingly and rudely cuts you off, runs out of her office and drives away like a scared dog (all captured on video as proof!!).
I’m sure I’m not the only one they’ve run this scam on and I think a class action lawsuit is in order to get repaid.
