While the location is amazing, Debra Tyler does not maintain her properties as advertised. We were told the landscaping was “professionally maintained” and not once during our two-year stint did anyone clean up the landscaping. I ended up doing all the yard work myself. Animals chewed holes in the exterior hall walls, including wires and when notified, Ms. Tyler said there was “nothing to be done”. Holes in the backs of our kitchen cabinets went unfixed (letting bugs and air in), the bedroom door was “lost” during the last painting job, and we were charged $1000+ for painting after we moved out (there were just nail holes and it’s a 700sqft apartment). Window screens were ripped and strewn about the property, and when the front gate broke, Ms. Tyler said she’d tried to fix it and couldn’t. A homeless man decided to enter the front garden b/c the door was open and spent the night in front of our door. The next day I went out and bought a new latch and fixed it myself. The next door neighbors sit outside screaming into a cell phone every night around 2am and the SF Gem Society grinds rocks and leaves their door open into the backyard every weekend. While the apartment is quirky and close to the ocean, I do not recommend renting from Debra Tyler.
